Have you tried the Creative Commons search assistant yet? It's a great starting point to search for content that may fall under Creative Commons licensing. There are currently two versions of the search tool:

You should always verify that the work is actually under a Creative Commons license by following the link. If you are in doubt you should contact the copyright holder directly, or try to contact the site where you found the content.
